The bulk of this project is focused on two IPads (and corresponding protective cases) which will have a transformative impact on our classroom. Until now my students have used an older personal IPad mini (cracked screen and all) for basic classroom procedures like checking homework and awarding class points. Our technology has been so out of date that it has not been able to live up to (or push) my students potential. With these new and updated tablets my students will truly be able to push their learning. We will use the iPads during small groups to check work, play interactive math games, watch videos to review individual instructional goals, and track our learning. As a whole class we will utilize our new technology to track behavior, communicate with parents, investigate science concepts, plan projects, and demonstrate learning in new ways. Room 205 has always been a space that fosters student ownership and these tools will allow students to have full leadership over their learning. Also included in this project are several flexible seating options for my students. Flexible seating allows students to work independently in a space of their choosing with tools to support their focus and engagement. These options will allow students ownership over their learning while still providing the classroom structure that our scholars need to thrive.
