I teach Project Lead The Way curriculum in a public school that 2000 students call home. We are a part of a choice program that allows students who are keen on a subject area to move across geographical boundaries to attend a school of their choice. While my school is located in one of the more affluent parts of the county, our school is very ethnically diverse. The richest kids rub shoulders with some of the most disadvantaged in our community. We are very proud of our culture at our school that allows students to come together in learning despite such disparity. My engineering academy serves close to 300 students in grades 9-12. Each year in high school, students in the academy take at least one course in engineering that introduces them to college level curriculum using a Activity Project and Problem solving methodology. While these are not considered AP courses, I would describe them as AP-like courses.
