The girls on our track team are very energetic and eager to participate in the track and field competitions in our area. I have athletes in the 8th through 12th grade on the track team and all of the girls take on some type of leadership role on the team. We live in a rural area with extremely limited resources therefore we can not afford to buy the equipment we need to train. We also do not have a track at our school, meaning no home meets, no gate money. The only way we generate funds for items is through fundraisers which aren't supported much in our community. The girls are very disappointed at the meets we attend when they can not compete in all of the events because we do not have the proper equipment. The track team at our school suffers greatly from lack of equipment. This is our second year having the program and we have yet to get what needed to train effectively. Our girls deserve the chance to compete with other teams and participate at the higher level.
