Through the activities that will be funded, my students will be able to apply concepts that are learned in our curriculum and take their learning to the next level by then developing their own questions about the phenomenon and testing them through designing their own experiments. My students will develop curiosity and "out of the box" thinking through hands-on work in my classroom. These are critical skills that our students should leave high school with, whether they are directly entering the workforce or continuing on to college. By providing the supplies for two labs: Energy and biomass in foodwebs; how much energy is needed?, and Ecocolumns; how does matter cycle in an ecosystem?, students will be able to ask questions about how environmental change/human impacts affect these phenomen.
