My fifth graders are from different backgrounds. The school is a melting pot. The one thing I have learned is that all children are not alike and they each learn differently. Some learn by doing, some learn by seeing or experimenting. In many ways I have to wear many hats as a teacher. Some days I am doctor, mother, counselor, friend but most of all I am an advocate for my students. The school that I teach in is a Title One School. We have the majority of our students on free and reduced lunch. The school is a great place providing students with many opportunities and learning environments.
