These books I have requested are just the beginning of our Antiracism initiative. We not only want students to see themselves reflected in literature, but we also want them to take pride in their heritage. Teachers and staff on campus are committed to reading these books as well to better incorporate diversity in the curriculum and embolden students to challenge themselves with rigorous course selection. Our hope is to have the Antiracism Library as the centerpiece of our current library to provoke conversations, engagement, and positive change. Our hope is to also to reinvigorate the relevancy of the library to a community hub of our school.
