Students will have the opportunity to read on their own at home and have a teacher to guide them with a very popular first-book in a series! This might encourage them to buy more in this series to read. It might encourage them to continue reading other titles by this author. We will discuss this book in small-group and one-on-one learning sessions to help reduce achievement gaps and improve literacy among high-risk and disenfranchised students. Students are excited to read and learn, but we have to provide materials that excite them!
