The students in our room are the most active bunch I've met yet. Each and every student is full of life and is always looking to get the academic attention they deserve! Especially when we're together at the area rug, I'm always impressed by the number of hands I see waving in the air. These lovely first graders want their voices heard and feel confident in themselves as blossoming students. They most enjoy working in groups or as a class, so lessons and activities done together mean a lot to them. Our room is one of two first grade classrooms in a school that goes up to 8th grade. Every grade has two classrooms, so our school is on the smaller scale. I believe our school stays close-knit: students and staff all know one another. We are a Philadelphia public school, so we do struggle to obtain every resource we may need. However, teachers exercise their creativity to make these ends meet and students make us proud by with demonstrating their knowledge with the resources they do have!
