The chairs that are currently in my classroom may be from when the school was originally built. They are old and dirty and nothing gets them totally clean. We are long overdue for fresh and clean new chairs that suit the size of the students and the needs of the classroom space. These are the first steps as I create a space with flexible seating. New, properly sized chairs will positively impact attention, concentration, memory and ultimately academic achievement. They will also physically support proper posture, blood circulation, and neck and back muscle relaxation. The impact these chairs will have on both their physical and academic growth is not just important, it's essential.
