If I had to describe my students in just four words I would call them driven, courageous, talented, and intelligent. They have never ending amounts of creativity and a hunger for learning and knowledge. Our school is piloting "standards based grading" this year which will help increase student achievement, as well as very clearly communicate with both students and parents how they are performing on each common core standard. This is an exciting time for our school as lead the way in this new way of grading and reporting. We have strong leadership from the top down, as well as a staff that cares about the students as a whole child (social, emotional, academic). We believe in our students and make it known that they are capable of doing great things. We acknowledge student achievement during daily morning meetings, and work hard to create and maintain a safe and fun learning environment for all.
