I teach reading and social studies to 3rd grade students in Tennessee. Our students are made up of a diverse population, all of whom will benefit from a novel study focused on our geographic region. We are in need of new and authentic materials that align to the new state standards in social studies. This book will allow students to gain understanding of their state and their region through discussion, analysis, imagination, thus capturing the attention of a wide range of students.
