My room is designed to meet the needs of individuals with moderate intellectual disabilities for Kindergarten-5th grade students. Having these students in my room for all academics calls for a lot of accommodating materials and curriculum to meet my students individual needs. Many of my students are non-verbal or have low fine motor skills, so the use of visuals and Velcro can help give them full access to the curriculum. Using the ink to print visuals for communication and engaging materials at their level provides them with endless opportunities to learn. The Velcro helps me create resources and adapt materials so that their low fine motor skills do not stand as a barrier to their learning.
