Now a days, everyone is sitting. Our school days do not allow opportunity to move in the way that they should. Kindergartners need movement to be engaged and be successful in their first year of school. Sitting for as long as they are expected to is not healthy for their bodies or their brains. In the eyes of a child, flexible seating is new and fun! In order to create a more comfortable learning environment to grow as a kindergartner, I want to provide each student with flexible seating at their tables.
By donating to our project, you will be contributing to increasing focus and attention in the classroom which will ultimately improve academic performance.
This includes 8 bouncy ball seats, 4 comfortable floor chairs and 2 wiggle stools! Flexible seating will allow students to move, wiggle and be more comfortable while working both independently and in groups. There are many aspects of the classroom environment that I can’t control but what I can control is seating arrangement, classroom management and making sure my classroom feels like a home. With flexible seating, I can shape a better atmosphere for my students in which they are expected to learn how to read, practice self-control and to manipulate numbers.
