The school I teach at was actually the elementary school I attended when I was a child, so to me it is a home away from home. My colleagues are all warm, caring people who are truly there to teach their students by believing that everyone can learn. Our students know that when they enter the building they are part of a community. Our new principal has also made it a point to learn all of their names so that he can welcome them each morning as individuals. It is a testimonial to everyone in our building that when the fifth grade students have their moving on ceremony, both parents and children tear up because they do not want to leave our school.
