My students come in very timid and nervous as they are entering a new school. I believe that the way my classroom is set up it helps the students with the transition. The groups help, but it is just not the groups. We are a student led classroom so that we are focusing the attention and the learning to the kids pace and not having to listen to the teacher talk the entire time. The kids lead the discussion, they help each other, and are constantly in tune with what we are doing. Each time we learn something new we make sure that we complete an activity that focuses on how to solve the problems and really understand the lesson. This is a way that we make sure that we keep the attention of the students that way they focus on the learning. This works so well because we are a leader in me school and the kids are taught how to be leaders and step up. We teach them Stephen Covey's "7 habits" to shape them as a student, person, and leader in class and life. We are located in San Antonio, TX
