I have the privilege of working with a group of amazing 4th graders deep in the heart of Texas! The city I work in is a central hub for many smaller communities. I have a very mixed demographic of students. Most of my students parents work either in the oil fields or the factories that surround us. Because of the type of work my students parents due most of my students either go to after school care, or home alone where they must fend for themselves. My student are amazingly strong individuals, with the desire to learn anything you will teach them. They love to please everyone and love to learn. Because of their backgrounds I often find they crave attention and lack focus. Many of my students only see their family a few times a month, and so I find their minds wondering as they think about their missing families. I am very blessed to work with these fun, highly active, attention seek group of 4th graders. We love, laugh, and learn a lot together!
