My students love to learn! I want to promote reading as being enjoyable and fun. Establishing the love of reading helps to create success in all other areas of life. We are fortunate to have a classroom library full of books for a wide range of reading abilities and interests. In my small classroom with 30 students and their desks, space is limited though. My students have always wanted to read in places other than sitting at their desks, and they have often ended up sitting on the hard floor. With my personal funds, I purchased a small area rug, which they loved but wasn't the quality necessary to withstand daily classroom use.
