My students have taken on the challenge to read 40 books over the course of the school year. Part of the challenge is for them to read books from 7 different genres. In order to help them reach their goal, I want to provide them with a variety of books in each of those genres. I want to help my reluctant readers find books that will change their attitudes on reading. I have spent the first couple weeks of school conferencing with my students one on one and getting to know them as learners and readers. I have collected their requests and included them in this wish list. Many of my students have told me that they don't have very many books at home that they can read, so they will be able to borrow any of our classroom books to take home. My goal is to create lifelong readers. By surrounding them with a diverse collection of quality literature, I hope to do just that.
