This is my first project that I have ever posted onto DonorsChoose.org and I am so excited to put more up!!
Being a first year special education teacher, the struggle is real. I am currently co-teaching in a second grade classroom. Most of the students in our classroom come into school having it be the only stable thing they can depend on a day-to-day basis. When our students come in we want them to be just as excited as we are for them to be here.
The rug/carpet in the classroom, is the main place of gathering. This is where our most intimate and engaging discussions and activities will take place. We need a rug that will fit all of us. We want every child to feel included in our classroom. It might not seem like a big deal, but having a big enough carpet to fit all of us, would be a huge deal for us. Right now we have a hard time getting ourselves situated when it's time to gather onto the rug. Students are spread out all over and we want EVERY student to feel like they belong in our classroom community. We want their lives to be as colorful as this carpet is. We want them to go through second grade knowing they belonged in our classroom!
Does anyone know a person that can sit completely still during a lesson? I know I can't even do that. This wobble stool can help the students who need a little bit more stimulation while learning. These stools help students get the stimulation they need, without being a distraction to other students or themselves. We have numerous students that would benefit from these stools.
