The books selected will make sure that a diverse selection can be found in our class library. This past year I watched as one little girl grabbed a book off of our shelves and was so excited to see that the child on the cover looked like she did. This connection changed the enthusiasm in which she attacked her story. That little girl inspired me to take a closer look at my library. I want to make sure that any child in my class has relatable literature at their fingertips! Whether used for small group, reading and responding, independent reading time or within the scope and sequence of our curriculum it is my desire that all students feel represented in all areas of our classroom.
