My students are a large group of highly diverse, highly active 9-11 year old 4th and 5th grade students that attend a Title I school in Anchorage, Alaska. Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch based on the average socio-economic status of the families of the students that attend our school. My students come from many different walks of life with challenges that require our school, our families, and our community to work together to support them. As their teacher, I strive to make our classroom a safe and reliable place to be. Students know that when they get to school they will be loved, respected, fed, and safe. Even with all of their challenges in and out of school, my students love to learn and be in class. Supporting our project will help them meet their learning and academic goals.
