The students in my class this year came in with many deficiencies in reading and math. With extra support and a few donated computers, I was able to ignite an excitement for learning while re-teaching the necessary skills my students were lacking. Unfortunately, my school does not meet the requirements set for by our district to receive extra funding for new computers or any other technology that would benefit our students. Even though the students are as needy as those in surrounding schools, we just don't get the funding needed to obtain the extra resources that are required to keep a love of learning instilled in all students.
