This is my 12th year teaching elementary school & 2nd year at Northside Elementary in Denham Springs, LA. We started school on August 4th. On August 12-13th, over 85% of our community experienced destroyed homes because of the Great Flood of 2016 in Denham Springs. Along with our homes, businesses, daycares, and neighborhoods flooding, our school, Northside Elementary School, flooded about 8 inches. This flooding has affected our classroom library, their shelves, and many learning DVDs. I would love to help my babies return to school in mid-September with a solid structure and equipped learning environment to nurse and provide a strong structural and educational base for learning. Would you be willing to help our LA classroom rebuild and return the materials we lost to the flood so our kids back can return to a strong, familiar reality as they restart this year of school?
