My students come from all different cultures, religions, countries, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Most of my students speak English as their second language. I also mainstream students from the school's Special Education classes every day, having children with special needs work side by side with their kindergarten peers. Our school has grown and changed since it opened in 2006. We have had our ups and downs and through all things we have continued to forge ahead and keep our eyes on learning. As a teacher I love working with kindergartners. From August through May their minds grow and change tremendously. They develop and change not only physically, but socially and academically. It is amazing to see a student in August struggle to learn how to write his or her name and then in May be able to read stories on their own. They are all amazing and wonderful in their own ways.
