Flexible seating allows students the freedom to wiggle and move as they need to and focus on their task at hand. This movement allows their brains to think and absorb the information they are learning. I see so many kids each year who face an attention barrier wall and struggle to be successful in the classroom. I have personally provided many other flexible seating options throughout my classroom and I see how much impact they have had. I also see a need for these ball chairs so my students can be successful during whole group learning, independent work time and guided reading time. I have talked with many other teachers who have made the switch from chairs to balls in their classrooms and they have seen the biggest improvement in their students. I want to give the students in our small school the same opportunity that other schools have.
