I have a diverse group of 4 and 5 year old students that are 100% economically disadvantaged, but that does not keep them from success in the classroom. These are the most self motivated and eager students I've ever had the pleasure of teaching. Everyday they show up to school ready to learn...Ready for a new adventure!! We rarely have any discipline issues because the students are always engaged in what they are learning. We are a Head Start school and teach using hands-on activities and manipulatives. We do not use worksheets. We encourage authentic and creative work from our students.
