My students need a kidney-shaped table for small group instruction. Reading is one of the most important skills acquired in life and having the right space for teaching this skill is important. My students are currently using a table that is too small and hard for me to easily direct each individual. Students have minimal workspace because the table we are using now is not ideal for the number of students in our small groups. Therefore, instruction is often stopped to deal with students trying to get to the table and be comfortable. The kidney table would allow for a more personal workspace for each student. The students are growing and need a table that allows them to interact with the teacher as well as having space between one another. The table will make for an ideal learning setting for my small guided reading groups. This table will also benefit other instruction in the classroom.
