I have a vast supply of “cat by the tail” life experiences to draw from which are blended with a limitless supply of energy and focus. My students quickly realize that I take advantage of every learning experience that presents itself. I am grateful to be part of North Idaho STEM Charter Academy. It is a project based, hands-on STEM school. In my opinion, there is no better way to learn than a hands-on approach. My desire is to make my classroom a place of questioning and discovery. Students learn that they need to defend their hypothesis even in Kindergarten. I ask them to show me evidence of their learning. This is when I assess where students are at and how I need to alter my methods to reach every child. This is one of the most important parts of being a teacher.
