I teach in a predominantly low income school environment. The majority of the children receive free or reduced meals. Our current school is literally falling apart which is why they are moving us into a new location. The new location is better, but it is still an older building and will need some work as well. We will be providing services for the same student base.
My students are great. They are so eager to be around other children and to get those socialization skills. They usually love to dance and sing current music they hear on the radio while at home with their parents. These children are just like any other children anywhere, some coming from 2 parent homes, some from single parents, some with siblings, some without, some with speech delays, some with behavior issues, some that are gifted and talented. These children are bright, eager to learn, and ready to soak up all the knowledge and excitement they can get from being at school every day!
