Our students are mostly kids from the country. They love to come to school because it's a chance to be with their friends whom they maybe didn't see all summer. Our school is also a small school with an enrollment of about 150 students. It's hard for our parent/ teacher group to raise large amounts of money to fund extras for the classroom with so few students to do the fundraising. In addition to being a small school, it is also a low income school with approximately 35% of students receiving free or reduced lunches. York students appreciate the extras and are always polite and gracious for anything extra they may receive.
