I will use these books to help my students discover all that is wonderful about our state. Fourth grade is the year that students across the country learn about the state they live in, so here in Colorado we are doing just that. From October to April, my students will be learning about Colorado history, our state government, the ins and outs of our economy and what duties we have as state citizens. My students love reading, flipping through pages and analyzing rich illustrations. I know a missing piece to our Social Studies units are kid-friendly books for them to use, books to help not only tell but show them. These books will be available for all of them to use throughout our units for the years to come.
