Recess is a time that students look forward to each day. It is a time for students to connect with their friends, play and have fun!! For some students, recess is a lonely time. Some students have difficulty making friends. Other students are new to the school or their friend is not at school that day. They see other students having fun and feel left out and isolated. Buddy benches have proven to be an effective way to encourage kindness and help students develop new friendships they otherwise would not have made. This project will benefit all students at our school. Social-emotional learning and skills are equally as important as academics. Your support in providing a new way to build friendships is important. Thank you!
