There are many different ways to support students learning needs/styles. Flexible seating is just one of those. Flexible seating allows students to focus and learn in a way that best suits them. As of now, my students are limited to the types of seating choices. Many of which are ones that do not support their needs.in order to give my students the best opportunity I would love to incorporate the seating choices in this project. These include; a yoga ball with feet, cushion seats for the floor or a regular chair, a band for the bottom of the chair legs, and stools. Each of these flexible seating choices serves their own purpose. The yoga ball and band for the bottom of the chairs serves the purpose of allowing students to move, this is especially important for kinesthetic learners who learn best through movement. Along, with supporting different learning styles, these choices they support sensory. The seat cushion provides students with a more comfortable seat choice. When students are able to have sensory work they are more likely to focus and learn. Having more options I am hopeful that my students will be able to make a choice that best suits them. These choices can lead to higher student focus and attention on academics. Thus, giving them the opportunity to really showcase their true abilities as scholars. By donating to our project, you will not only be supporting the focus and attention of our students but also supporting their success within and outside of the classroom. By giving them these choices, students will be able to determine what they need to succeed. This self awareness is not only beneficial to their academic success but also their success in the world. Giving them the power to become their own best advocates.
