My students come from low socioeconomic families and some are homeless. They don't have computers at home, so they are not familiar with keyboarding or computer science. At school is where they can be exposed to technology. My school has technology classes, but our computers are old. My technology classes need to be equipped with at least workable computers. Most of my students are very interested to learn about JavaScript and coding. However, the slow and broken computers can get in the way of their success. Our state test is all online and without exposure to technology, they will not do as well as their peers who have the latest technology at school and at home.
