Unfortunately, the science classrooms at our middle school campus are not equipped for my students to have hot water available for science activities and labs. Our facilities do not have any traditional lab equipment like bunsen burners or hot plates, which makes using the microwave the only way we can get hot water, one at a time. This is time consuming and leads to a less efficient use of instructional time. With a 4-Liter hot water boiler, we would be able to have enough water for each of my periods when our science activities/labs call for it. The letter board will be used as a fun and creative way for students to either give thanks or inspire their peers everyday in class. I plan to use this as an opportunity for one student each day to write a thankful message or an inspirational quote. The letter board would be hanging at the entrance of the room so every student will have an opportunity to read what their peers are writing. Lastly, the trash picker is for helping my recycle club students to help pick up plastic bottles or aluminum cans out of trash cans around the school campus during lunch. Not only will select students be volunteering their time to pick up trash, but this tool also will help our club use collected funds from recycling to make our school greener and cleaner.
