My high school students see the Hispanic population growing in their community, and they want to be a part of it! I teach three sections of introductory, high school Spanish to ninth through twelfth graders at a high-poverty, low-achieving school. My students are challenged daily with the acquisition of resources just to survive outside of school. Similarly, they are seldom given the resources they need to push them to succeed in the classroom.
