Our students are terrific, hardworking kids who live in extreme poverty. Most of them live in small apartments with two or more families. The school is the center of the community. We are the school, park, library, clinic and the gateway to technology. Even though our students face many obstacles, they come to school each day eager to learn. Our school has an ancient computer lab and there is one antiquated computer in some classrooms. The kids spend approximately fifteen minutes per day in the computer lab. I feel as if I am failing my kids by not providing more experiences with technology.
