Children are more competent that sometimes we allow them to be. Woodworking is a skill that is starting to make its comeback! There are many benefits to woodworking. They improve their fine motor skills by holding nails or screws in place. They work on their persistence, focus and cognitive domain. They work their large motor skills by using their arm muscles. Woodworking has a great focus on math. They're learning engineering skills, measurement and size. Students will be able to collaborate and work together to create amazing things and learn teamwork, respect for materials, and confidence. Students will also be able to apply their woodworking skills to writing. They will be able to create "How to" books and much more once we begin woodworking!
