This requested rug will be the heart of my classroom. The classroom rug is where we will come together every morning for morning meetings. These morning meetings give students the opportunity to share of themselves in a personal way, which fosters a strong sense of community in the classroom. As a teacher, one of my personal goals is to always to make my classroom feel like our home, and having a special place for us to meet as a school family is a wonderful way to do just that. Our new rug will also be our meeting place for whole-group instruction, read-alouds, and student presentations! I have had to replace my classroom rug nearly every year, so having a high-quality rug (with a ten-year guarantee!) will be a lifesaver!
