About 93% of the students at my school qualify for free and reduced lunch, 50% are English Language Learners, and 90% are considered minorities. While these numbers indicate some of the challenges my students face each day, they also reveal their perseverance and strength to solve problems. My students are very energetic and independent. They are very social beings, and require a lot of time sharing with one another and talking about their ideas out loud. They are taught to be leaders and to exemplify respect with themselves, classmates and staff.
