Kindergarten lays the foundation for all future learning. In this day and age, technology is at the forefront of 21st century skills and thinking. Although technology should never be used as a substitute for learning, it can successfully be used to enhance it. I teach in an inclusion setting. This kind of classroom is comprised of both general education and special needs students with 2 teachers working together. Many of these students receive free and reduced lunch and have little or no access to technology at home. This age group has such a thirst for knowledge. They are constantly questioning their environment around them and are willing to soak up as much information as they can. With the use of technology in the classroom, they will be exposed to so much more than just paper to pen materials. Lessons infused with technology will actively involve all the students and further help those where traditional learning strategies have not been as successful.
