Having a classroom set of head phones will allow my students to stay focused on their task as they work through the computer center in our math class. During centers we use a program called Sum Dog that allows each student to work on their own specific standard. Through this program they set goals and master standards as they go. This program rewards them as they progress through the standards which really gives the students a sense of accomplishment. Students love having the opportunity to work on the computer because most of them have no technology access outside of the school day. My students would benefit from having a tablet in our classroom for times when all student computers are being used. At times, center groups can shift and students may be added. It's important that each student has access to some form of technology for out computer center.
