My students are the students who are labeled as gifted in my school district. These students come from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The unifying theme for my students is their thirst for knowledge. My school prepares them for college and their future careers. My students love hands-on activities and when given the chance to innovate they come up with brilliant ideas. My students have gone to an amusement park and have used their smart phones to gather coherent data and analyze it. They have been able to build robots, gliders and rat trap cars. However, they do not always connect these concepts to everyday tasks such as walking or banking around a curve in a car. I would like to provide my students with the ability to test their own motion and be able to see the world beyond the models of everyday physics and become the innovators of tomorrow.
