This is my first year teaching first grade and first year teaching overall. I received my teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach after graduating with a bachelor's degree in business and deciding that I wanted to teach. My first year has been filled with amazing experiences with my students as I learn along with them. The growth I have seen in my students is amazing and I am looking forward to a long career of teaching elementary school. At my school I have served on various committees this year and will be adding additional responsibilities for the next school year. The Common Core State Standards have opened up a world of new creative ways to teach my students. Students are now expected to engage in technology on a regular basis. I am always looking for new programs and ways to use technology to enhance my students' learning. I will use this laptop at professional development workshops to bring back the most up-to-date programs, learning tools, and curriculum ideas!
