My students are wonderful hard working children. They are held to high expectations and always surprise me to the level that they are able to achieve. These students are from low-income families and do not have the basics that we routinely envision students have. Students in my class struggle with self worth and self esteem. Many of them try to hide their beauty and unique appearance due to lack of confidence. They come from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds.
