Having the set of 10 Ozobots will allow for students to become familiar with the coding basics. This will allow our classroom to become a one to one robotics classroom. One way the students will use the Ozobots is to practice their directional skills while using maps. They will have to know which way to make the robot travel in order to reach their destination on a map. Another way the students can use the Ozobots is to practice their multiplication facts. They can also work on the properties of quadrilaterals by drawing a quadrilateral for the Ozobot to travel along. Students can also work on fractions on a number line by making the robot move a different way once they reach the fraction they want on the number line. They can work collaboratively together to code the Ozobots for assignments as well. My project will make a difference because it will help the students become 21st century learners, thus making them more competitive in the future workplace. My classroom is not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
