Second grade is an exciting year of growing independence, becoming fluent readers, and using their understanding of number sense to solve and create various math problems. They are also beginning to understand deeper concepts about their world and where they live. My students love learning and solving problems. The method that works best for each one varies from student to student. In our classroom, we use various ways to show our learning. We use hands-on activities, paper-pencil, technology, collaborative group work, and projects. My students are an incredible bunch and I am blessed to be able to facilitate their learning! My Project My students are hands-on learners. Because of this, I need to model how to use our materials so they are successful when it is time for them to work independently. A projector is a great way to show live modeling of manipulatives as well as their own modeling.
