This project will provide students with a rich library filled with a variety of choices to match their interests and levels. By blending science, award winners, and non fiction each child has a chance to find that ONE book that could turn them into an avid reader. I believer it takes one book, or series, to capture a child's attention and send their imagination on adventures. Many of these students only get to our library once a week and feel overwhelmed with the choices. A book that might interest them may be higher than their reading level, therefore they get frustrated and quit looking. It is equally damaging when they choose a book that is too easy because they don't have to "think" to understand it.
