The students this year are low readers and as the classroom teacher I want to have different ways they can perceive what great reading looks like. When the students are not learning in whole group instruction, they can work independently using technology to help them achieve reading goals. Using handheld devices can help gain the confidence of a student's reading if they are being repetitive in the skill they are lacking. By the end of second grade, the goal is to have all students reading on a 24 reading level. My job is to get them there and be proud.
