Third grade is an intimidating and exciting year! Students start gaining more independence in reading and learning. State testing can be a scary thing for an 8 or 9 year old to think about. It is my job to present and teach the skills they need in order to be successful, in an engaging way. It is important for me to connect with each of my students and let them know that I care about them. Often, they spend more time with me than their families, so they need to be able to feel safe and comfortable at school.
